In October 2016 South Yorkshire Police concluded their extensive dig, on Kos for any evidence to confirm that Ben Needham was dead. Detective DI Cousins who lead the hunt, concluded that it was his professional opinion, that ben had been accidentally killed on the day he disappeared. This accident was attributed to a local builder Dinos’ Barkas. He had been driving a JCB digger in the garden area where Ben was allowed to play. DI Cousins reportedly then said concerning Dinos’ JCB, ‘We have not been able to find Dinos’ digger. The digger left the Island six or seven years ago.’
If the digger left the Island, six years earlier, that means it left Kos in 2010. Ben disappeared in 1991. This means that the digger the JCB remained on Kos Island for 19 years, after allegedly, being the item which accidentally killed Ben.
Does this seem reasonable to you? If you had accidentally caused such a fatality, would you not want to dispose of the digger, as soon as possible, if you had accidentally caused such a fatality? Especially if it had resulted in a death.
I have read newspaper reports, that Eddie Ben’s Grandad, actually inspected the digger himself on the day Ben was last seen. So Eddie had a reasonable suspicion, that it could have been involved in Ben’s disappearance. I am assuming that Eddie found no evidence to suggest it had been in an accident with Ben.
The digger in this photo, did not belong to Dino Barkas, but I put here for illustration only.
